Hi! Back to blogging again!
I got some information from Wikipedia, regarding bruises. By the way, it's for light bruises only.
HOW THEY FORM? : Bruises, regardless of the severity of them, form due to blunt impact. The skin becomes red, tender and swollen, which are signs of inflammation.
WHY THEY FORM? : When the capillary gets damaged, blood seeps into the tissue surrounding the blood vessel. Even as the capillary is being repaired, blood may still continue to seep into the surrounding tissue, causing the bruise to darken and grow in size.
HOW THEY HEAL? : The bruise turns from dark red to purple, blue or black, and eventually to yellow before disappearing completely.
HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE TO HEAL? : Light bruises take about two weeks to heal, depending if any treatment is applied (shorter time) and if there's any repeated impacts (longer time).
TREATMENTS: Even though treatments are minimal, one of them is RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Includes Referral to the doctor if the bruise gets worse). When the bruise is close to recovery, light stretches can be done. If the bruise gets worse, ice can be applied onto the bruise or elevating the affected area. One can massage, very gently, on the area to encourage blood flow and relieve pain. One cannot use too much pressure, if not it would worsen the bruise.
For more information about what cause the colours of the bruise, go check Wikipedia(:
OK, bye!
